The Digital Divide
When it comes to technology I feel like I'm like any other teenager that's addicted to their phone, it's our way of escaping the real world sometimes, or sometimes we just do it for fun. Technology has it's ups and downs. There's times when I feel it holds me back from achieving my goals because it distracts me and I can't focus on my school work. I know for sure that my data is not protected or private but I know that there are ways that we can make that happen. I feel like the way people see us online depends on the way we express ourselves online. But there are times when it is used in negative ways such as cyber bullying, that can harm people, and the way people see you online.

True Meaning
Many people have different views on reading. Some people enjoy it as a hobby, some love it because it's as if they get to escape their world for a bit and fantasize, some enjoy learning new things, but there are also people that do it because they are forced to. Unlike Dr. Preston, he clearly enjoys reading because as he stated, "I opened the cover, read the first page, sat down on the floor, and devoured the whole thing. Actually it devoured me. That book scared the shit out of me and I loved every minute. It didn’t matter that I didn’t understand every nuance. I loved it so much that when I finished it, I immediately turned back to the first page and started reading it again." This helps show how much Dr. Preston enjoys reading because of what the books have to offer.
"The deeper meaning of the book points the deeper meaning in ourselves", states Dr.Preston. I feel like what he stated there describes perfectly his thoughts toward reading. What Dr. Preston is trying to say is how if you truly enjoy a book, it's the book that holds a meaning for you.Something that was necessary to get to you, something that will truly help you. Overall this states how the true meaning of a book to you truly points the impact that meaning has had in your life.
"For those of us who love, recommend, and assign books sometimes make things too simple." Dr. Preston is clearly stating how we can force someone to read a book, but we can't make them enjoy it. It's as if teachers these days doubt their students they will read so they test them. I feel like this is the part that makes it easy because that's when students start reading the book but only to get answers to questions. And not for the sake of getting something out of the book or truly enjoying it. This just make us understand how much teachers that assign books make it easy for students to not enjoy a good book.
Reading can be described as a hobby, pleasure, resource for knowledge, or an enforcement. If you truly take the time to enjoy a book I feel you would get something out it. I agree with what Dr. Preston stated that the meaning of a book can connect to you, because it's something that you were destined to know about or you needed. This is why we need books, because we need their true meaning.
